The Fairtrade logo only applies to goods from overseas, but
Herefordshire Fairtrade is an enthusiastic supporter of
local produce. Buying locally provides better livelihoods,
working conditions and fairer prices for our local farmers,
and reduces the food miles that create climate-changing
pollution which will in turn impact the poor across the
world. The message is: buy locally if you can; buy
Fairtrade when you buy from overseas. Herefordshire
Fairtrade supports
Herefordshire Farmer's Markets
and is involved in
Herefordshire
Foodlinks, who are shortly to start work on a new
online directory of local food and drink.
